Jimena Navarrete

Navarrete was crowned Nuestra Belleza Jalisco on July 16, 2009 in her hometown, and subsequently won the national title of Nuestra Belleza México as well, besting thirty-three other contestants during the 16th edition of that event, held September 20, 2009 in Mérida, Yucatán.[6] That night, Navarrete became the second consecutive winner from Jalisco, following Karla Carrillo, the outgoing titleholder and a close friend who encouraged her to participate in the pageant.[1][4]

On August 23, 2010, Navarrete was named Miss Universe,[7] making her the second Mexican delegate to win the title, after Lupita Jones in 1991. Both were crowned in Las Vegas, Nevada.[7]

Women selected as Miss Etiquette of the 16th Asian Games, to be held in Guangzhou, receive training at the Shunde campus of Southern Medical University in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province, Aug 20, 2010. About 550 women, aged 17 to 25 and between 168 and 175 centimeters tall, have been receiving training since July 22, which includes body balancing, smiling, gesturing, music appreciation, basic English, ballet form and fundamentals in medal-award ceremonies.
